We wash our hands with soap to kill germs and bacteria. However, if you are currently using bulk fill or refillable soap dispensers, did you know that they are a breeding ground for bacteria and they can leave hands with 25 times more bacteria after washing?
The Centre for Disease Control and Infection (CDC) warns – Do not add soap to a partially empty soap dispenser, this practice of topping off dispensers can lead to bacterial contamination of soap.
Here at Hcsuk, our aim is always to promote and advise on best practice for care homes and fit for purpose product solutions to enable, our care home customers, to meet the regulatory requirements and to help them to improve their standards.
For these reasons, we have taken the decision to rationalise our hand hygiene offering to include a more streamlined and fit for purpose range which meets with both our values, and also with infection control standards and will help care homes to demonstrate that they are a safe and responsive service to CQC.
We offer a wide range of sealed cartridge dispensers, both manual and touch free, in different sizes to meet the needs of different areas of care homes.
We can help to improve hand hygiene compliance and reduce infections by: –
- Completing a full hand hygiene site survey to establish your needs.
- Providing free on-loan soap dispensers subject to a customer service agreement installed free of charge for 25 dispensers or more.
- A choice of mild and dermatologically tested hand soaps, sanitisers and moisturisers as recommended by infection control nurses to encourage regular hand hygiene whilst maintaining healthy skin.
